BethAnne vs Anti-Mormonism

 Temples

Here again in another of the lessons that some on the stream would not like to have people know about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka the Mormons aka the LDS Church (non-reformist) (non-pologymist).

Blessings of the Temple
---------------------------------------------------

"The ideals of faith, hope, and charity are most evident in the holy
temples. There we learn the purpose of life, strengthen our commitment as disciples of Christ by entering into sacred covenants with Him, and seal our families together for eternity across generations.

Receiving our own endowment in a temple and returning frequently to perform sacred ordinances for our kindred dead increases our faith, strengthens our hope, and deepens our charity. We receive our own endowment with faith and hope that we will understand the Lord's plan for His children, will recognize the divine potential within each of us as children of our Heavenly Father, and will be faithful to the end in keeping the covenants we make. Performing temple
ordinances for the dead is a manifestation of charity, offering
essential blessings to those who have preceded us, blessings that were not available to them during their mortal lives. We have the privilege of doing for them what they are unable to do for themselves."

(Joseph B. Wirthlin, "Cultivating Divine Attributes," Ensign, Nov.
1998, 27)

Although Elder Wirthlin has passed from this mortal coil his words ring as true now more than ever as families are falling apart; we have the way to save them for not just time but for all eternity.

 Good Works Are They Necessary?

Here is another quote that I thought I would share that some in the stream believe proves we are not Christians.

"The children of men will be judged according to their works, whether
they be good or bad. If a man's days be filled up with good works, he
will be rewarded accordingly. On the other hand, if his days be filled up with evil actions, he will receive according to those acts. . . . When will the people realize that this is the period of time in which they should commence to lay the foundation of their exaltation for time and eternity, that this is the time to conceive, and bring forth from the heart fruit to the honor and glory of God, as Jesus did." (Brigham Young)

Now we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka the Mormons aka the LDS Church (non fundamentalist)(non pologimist) are very much aware that works alone will not get you into Heaven.

You must be baptized by water by immersion and then by fire which is the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

In theory these Anti-Mormons believe that works are not important for entrance into Heavenly Father's Kingdom. Yet while Christ was on his mission or in his ministry he did teach and share and correct incorrect principles and he did many great works.

He insisted that he be baptised by John the Baptist by immersion and the Holy Ghost conferred his spirit upon him in the shape of a dove as this was the most special baptism in the world. It set the example of what we need to do.

Many times Christ exhorted his disciples and his Apostles to feed his sheep and to become like him. How can we do that if we only do good works with out the proper baptisms and if we only have the baptisms and not the works how could we possibly look Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the eyes and tell them that we did all that we could to share His words and help our fellow man just as the good Samaratin did?

 Who was Barabbas?

At the time when Christ was taken to jail and Pilate washed his hands of the deal and let the crowd choose between Jesus and Barrabas, who had been jailed by this same group, exactly who was Barrabas?

Yeashua (phonetical spelling) is the Hebrew word which in turn the Romans using Latin came to be the name of Jesus.

However there are two parts of the names of Barabbas and Jesus missing. Barabbas first name is not mentioned neither is the last name of Jesus. I don't believe Mary and Joseph were the Christ family.

Yet if doctrinal is studied enough we find that both Barabbas and Jesus Christ had the same first name which I am spelling phonetically as Yeashua.

So when Pilate asked which of the two Yeashuas to crucify they had to chose between the living and literal Son of God and Barabbas who was claiming to be the literal and living son of God.

Barabbas had been arrested some time earlier for robbery and for claiming to be the son of God. So it only makes sense that this colleberation to remove the name from both sets of the Hebrew versions of Jesus Christ and Barabbas and the Christian version of the Cruixifiction or this would not have to be something known only to the people who do indepth study of ancient scriptures.

Let me know what your ideas are. Have a great week! Beth.

 Incorrect translations of the Bible

I have proposed many times that there are incorrect translations of the Bible. I have constantly been challenged with that fact and have been told that the Bible is Sola Scripta. So as I was reading I decided that we would just deal with these three from 1 Samuel:

----

1 Samuel 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

1 Samuel 18:10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul,

1 Sameul 19:9 And the evil spirit afrom the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand:

----

Now there has been much talk on Thomisticguy's blog regarding the inability of God the Father being unable to be evil or to create anything evil.

If this is true then how can Lord our God send an evil spirit upon Saul to cause he to hate David so much that he wanted to kill him just because the people praised him for his accomplishments?

Now I know that many people take offense that Joseph Smith Jun. used the Urim and Thummin to look for mistranslations in the Bible, but at the time Joseph didn't speak Hebrew, Latin or Greek so he only had the Urim and Thummin to use for translation of any scriptures available to him.

In each of these verses there was one word that was ommitted and that is the word not.

See the evil spirit did not come from the Lord nor did it come from God; which leaves with only one other option either Satan or one of his minions was the spirit that was not from God that set Saul's hatred and jealously to such a freenzy that he was willing to use his soldiers to find David to kill him.

Perhaps if he had not worked so hard looking for David the Philistines would not have been able to overcome them as they do by the end of the 1 Samuel.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka the LDS Church aka the Mormons (non pologomist)(Non Reformist), I must say that there is no room to debate these three misquotations.

We can not know if they were intentionally left out to make God seem
human by being able to do evil or if the scribe just simply missed the word not in the same book three times.

What we do know is that God can not be in the presence of evil and evil can not be in the presence of righteousness and that is proven in the first quote 1 Samuel 16:23 when David played his harp and in his pureness of heart and in his righteousness the evil spirit could no longer vex Saul.

It was not until Saul allowed the spirit in that it stayed to fire his hatred of David.

I hope everyone has a great week and take care of yourselves. Beth.

The Peaceable Things of the Kingdom

As I said I will be periodically posting items written from our Prophets, Seers and Revelators-- This being the First Presidency and the 12 Apostles.

This particular one comes from M Russell Ballard a member of the 12 Apostles:

=====Gems from the Teachings of Church Leaders
The Peaceable Things of the Kingdom
---------------------------------------------------

"Like those who were alive at the time of His mortal ministry, there
are some among us who look for physical peace and prosperity as signs of the Savior's wondrous power.

We sometimes fail to understand that the everlasting peace Jesus promises is an inner peace, born in faith, anchored by testimony, nurtured with love, and expressed through continual obedience
and repentance.

It is a peace of spirit that echoes through the heart and the soul. If one truly knows and experiences this inner peace, there is no fear from worldly disharmony or discord. One knows deep down inside that all is well as far as the things that really matter are concerned."

Topics: peace, Jesus Christ, testimony

( M. Russell Ballard, "The Peaceable Things of the Kingdom," Ensign,
May 2002, 87)=====

The gospel according to Beth. If you have peace in your heart and soul then you have the peacable things of the Kingdom of Heavenly Father. You do have fear of the Lord, as to the fear of being seperated for time and all eternity from our Heavenly Father. At this poing in our lives we are seperated, but if we are seperated for eternity it is by our own choices.

Whatever happens in this world will happen according to God's plan of Salvation and the only way to put it off for a longer period of time is for people to embrace the truth of His words and for this country to become more faithful and dilligent in protecting our right to worship who, what and how we please.

This is what we ask of the world as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka the LDS Church aka the Mormons (non pologomist)(Non Reformist).

I am prepared to defend my beliefs and use our prophets, seers and revelators to do just that. I will use their words and I will challenge anyone to find in the New or Old Testament where what Elder M. Russell Ballard has said that condricts the teachings of the Bible.

Good luck finding something that shows that this particular Apostle is teaching against the Bible, which has been so stated on other blogs. Beth.
